Cheshire West Recycling (CWR) is a wholly owned company of Cheshire West and Chester Council who have a successful history of service delivery via arms-length companies. Our organisations are well placed to operate with a commercial mind but a cooperative heart, where achieving the best outcomes for communities, residents, children and young people is our goal. We are responsible for delivering recycling, garden waste and residual waste services across the borough, making over 440,000 collections per week with a team of over 300 local people, operating over 100 frontline collection vehicles.
Since being established in 2019 we have come along way, delivering the first phase of our waste strategy including £15 million investment in new fleet, new recycling containers and improved recycling rates. We have implemented ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and CMS. Our communities are at the heart of everything we do, driving environmental change, addressing climate change, behaviour change and keeping our neighbourhoods clean and safe.
We continue to have ambitious plans including new and improved depots, further investment in our fleet, the creation of 2 new vehicle maintenance facilities with a further £million capital investment in upgrading our materials recovery facility. We are also driving our commercial business, seeking new revenue streams, exploring additional services that we can deliver and innovating to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill.
Our Managing Director will be central to our future, working with the board, colleagues and stakeholders. You will support the strategic development of the company ensuring that we progress our objectives whilst embodying our principles and values.
