About Cheshire West Recycling
At Cheshire West Recycling Limited (CWR) we operate with co-operative principles with a social and environmental purpose. CWR is a council owned company.
Established in October 2019, we became operationally active on the 30th March 2020, providing refuse, recycling and garden waste collection activities on behalf of Cheshire West and Chester Council.
At CWR we employ over 300 local people and operate over 90 frontline collection vehicles. Residents across the borough receive at least one service per week.
We create clean and safe neighbourhoods by collecting recyclable materials and ensure it is processed to produce new and sustainable products. Waste collected which can’t be reused is recognised as a valuable resource and used as fuel to produce power and heat.
Less than 1.5% of all waste collected has to be landfilled. In an effort to reduce the impact of carbon on the local environment we are always looking at ways to recycle and recover more. Our teams aim to make recycling easier, maximising the level of material recovery.
Our Purpose
To work with the communities we serve, leading positive environmental change to create clean and safe places to live and work for future generations.
Our Vision
People are at the heart of everything we do and everybody has a part to play. Our cooperative principles embrace a collaborative approach to minimising the impact of waste on our community and work tirelessly to achieve zero waste
